Message from Sinada family

It will be forty days since Abdel Wahab died......

and it is time for us to say `thank you' to everybody who had sent condolences and written kind words.

Instead of being the bereaved widow and "orphans", we found ourselves, most of the time, in a situation when we were offering consolation to deeply distressed friends....

We have been lucky. Our life with A/W was often perilous, but it was always full of love, mutual respect and, especially, fun. We had a lot of fun. Yasmin, when she spoke at the farewell meeting in Prague, before we took her father's coffin to Khartoum, said:

"I will always remember my father with a smile. In the same way in which he always remembered his own father, Sheikh Sinada, every day, with a smile...."

So, we are not sad. Just lonely.

And Abdel Wahab was no saint. He was just our husband, father, friend, and a honest and humble human being. Others will assess his political, trade union, and other public activities...

And please convey our gratitude to all the friends who have been of so such much support to us during our peregrinations, and the fountain of such much joy to our family, in Khartoum, Prague, Dar es Salaam, Aden, London....

And we shall always be grateful to have been (actually we still are) a part of the close, loving, funny, and luckless Sinada family. (That being put in a very "uncouth" way, as my wonderful father-in-law, Sheikh Sinada, would have said.)

Tariq is in London, Yasmin with her husband Khalid in Frankfurt, I am staying with my old and ailing mother in Prague. But our houses and hearts are open to you all.

God Bless and thank you all.
